Abdul Quyyum

Guide

A Uighur native of Kashgar, Abdul graduated from Xinjiang University with a degree in Uighur Literature. He began working as a professional tour guide in 1990 and is extremely knowledgeable about the Islamic history of Central Asia.

Anna Na

Guide

Anna is a true Beijing native who loves the courtyards and neighborhood feel of her hometown. She loves her job as a tour guide and is a great asset on any trip. She enjoys taking travelers around her hometown.

Chris Lian

Guide

Chris graduated from Dalian University with a major in Touism Management, before beginning his career as an HR manager at the Sofitel hotel in Hainan Province. Chris thinks his experience there has helped him to improve his guiding by giving him further insight into the tourism industry.

Florence Ma

Guide

Born in Shanghai, Florence is an expert on Shanghai history and is always up-to-date with current events in the city. A graduate of the prestigious East China Normal University graduate, Florence has outstanding management skills and excellent English.

Fred He

Guide

A native Beijinger, Fred graduated from Beijing’s Institute of Tourism with degrees in English and Tourism. He has developed innovative trips around Beijing that go off the beaten path and expose clients to authentic life in the hutong (traditional alleyways). With clients ranging from 1987 Nobel Prize winner Stanley Cohen and firms like Goldman Sachs and McKinsey to middle school groups, Fred is a versatile guide who adapts extremely well to his clients.

Gary Wu

Guide

A Beijing native, Gary says he loves the creative side of being a tour guide and is constantly evaluating new and interesting places to take his guests.

Huang Huaihai

Guide

Huang was born into a Zhuang family in Southeastern Yunnan. However, after living in Lijiang for seven years, he now considers himself part Naxi. With almost a decade of experience, Huang has coordinated and led groups through numerous regions of China, ranging from the ancient town of Lijiang to the wild and untamed region of Tibet.

James Lee

Born and raised in southern China, James is very knowledgeable of tourist hotspots, and more importantly, the less-known treasures and local people that make up the vibrant culture of Guangxi Province and China’s other southern regions.

Jerry Dong

Born and raised in the gorgeous environs of Dali, Jerry’s reliable and well-organized style makes him an ideal host for Beijing – he can whiz you through a city of 17 million people in a seamless and relaxed manner!

Joe Zhao

Growing up in Heilongjiang Province, Joe moved to Beijing in 1999 to attend college. He attended Beijing 2nd Foreign Affairs University, majoring in Tourism Management. Joe has lead foreigners from all over the world, and his English is great as a result. His easy going and affable personality make him a great Beijing guide.

A native of Shanxi, Michael moved to Beijing shortly after graduating from Xi’an Translation University in pursuit of exciting trip guiding opportunities. An open and capable guide, Michael is a welcome presence in any group looking to explore Beijing’s imperial temples and winding side paths.

Michael Zhao grew up on a farm in rural Guangxi and found his way to guiding as a way to show off the incredible beauty of his home region to travelers.

Nyima

Guide

Nyima has the privilege of working in one of the most beautiful, remote places on Earth. Born in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, Nyima has decade’s worth of experience leading groups in and around Tibet’s astonishing scenery.

Oliver Guan

Guide

Oliver is a Xishuangbanna native who loves introducing visitors to the culture and history of his corner of Yunnan Province. In addition to Mandarin and English, he also speaks the local Dai languag and is very knowledgeable about local ethnic culture and botany.

Shelly Zhang

Guide

Born in neighboring Sichuan, Shelly Zhang now calls Lijiang home. Working first in a front desk role at a local hotel in Lijiang, Shelly became a full-time English tour guide in 2007.

Shiau Xiao

Guide

A graduate of English from Guizhou Normal University, Shiau is a true champion! He has been awarded the title of “Best Tour Guide in Guizhou” on multiple occasions since 1999, and also been nominated as the “Best Tour Guide in China.”

Sonam

Guide

Since entering the industry, Sonam has traveled extensively throughout Tibet, learning more about his home province than he could have hoped. He especially loves the personal interaction with clients, and the fulfilling feeling of knowing his group is completely satisfied with their experience.

Suzie Shu

Suzie began her career as a tour guide after obtaining a degree in Tourism Management from Sichuan Normal University. She loves the relaxed atmosphere and delicious food of Chengdu.

Born and raised in Guilin, Thomas has nearly three decades of experience leading trips through the famous tourist destinations in his region, as well as many lesser-known treasures. Thomas is a firm believer in the importance of travel as a means of experiencing a new culture.

This individual will be responsible for communicating WildChina’s key messages across our website, social media, newsletters, and internal platforms through written and visual content. She/he will tell WildChina’s story in an engaging, compelling way; turning interested fans into clients and helping expand the reach and range of our audiences. While the focus will be communications and ensuring brand consistency, daily activities will be diverse and ever-changing, requiring the skills of a happy multi-tasker.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the creation and publishing of engaging content, including blog articles, lead magnets, newsletter content, and website copy
  • Devising and implementing creative marketing campaigns for general branding exercises as well as specific outreach campaigns
  • Managing a rich content calendar that reflects WildChina’s principles and attracts our target travelers
  • Researching and analyzing WildChina’s market position and providing strategic input based on findings and goals
  • Converting site traffic through intriguing calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead-generation content
  • Developing, implementing, and managing WildChina’s social media strategy, including implementing a rich content calendar with plans for specific, timely marketing campaigns and consistent engagement with key audiences

Marketing Intern

The WildChina Marketing Intern will be an integral part of the WildChina Marketing. S/he will work closely with the Marketing staff to create content for WildChina’s digital marketing campaigns and will represent the Marketing team on key cross- team initiatives. We are looking for a native English speaker to assist the Marketing team for at least a 2-month time period. Position starts immediately and we will consider remote working options.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and creating content for the WildChina blog
  • Collaborating with the Sales team to create new site descriptions for WildChina clients
  • Managing sections of the WildChina website
  • Assisting with planning and execution of Marketing campaigns
  • Assisting with longer-term Marketing initiatives

Requirements:

  • Fluent English speaker
  • Available for at least 2 months
  • Ability to work under deadlines and submit work in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese (desirable)
  • Background in Marketing and/or working in a start-up environment
  • Self-starter, ability to think creatively about problem-solving
